(Owensboro) – Daviess County Parks & Recreation has started accepting online reservations for ballfields and covered picnic shelters.
To reserve a space, visit daviessky.org and select park reservations. First-time users will need to set up an account before selecting a facility rental at Yellow Creek Park or Panther Creek Park.
“The new CivicRec software is convenient, mobile-friendly, and easy to use,” explained Ross Leigh, Director of Parks & Recreation. “There’s no longer a need to call our office to place a reservation.”
“Users will find photos and descriptions of each facility, pricing information, and a reservation calendar with available event dates,” he added. “Even the checkout process is seamless with multiple payment options, using a credit or debit card.”
Shelter reservations are available now for the 2022 park season, which ends on October 31. Between Panther Creek Park and Yellow Creek Park, the County offers nearly a dozen covered picnic shelters for a wide range of events.
“Our parks provide the perfect setting for your next birthday party, family picnic, or high school class reunion,” Leigh added.
Many of the picnic shelters are enclosed with lights and access to a barbecue grill. Nearby amenities include: a stocked fishing lake, basketball and volleyball courts, disc golf, playground equipment, and spray parks.
“The picnic shelters are extremely popular, especially on weekends in the spring and fall,” Leigh concluded. “If there’s an important date for your event, go ahead and make a reservation today.”
