Human Resources

The Human Resources department strives to provide quality employment and benefit services to the employees of Daviess County Fiscal Court.

Department responsibilities include administering and enforcing personnel policies outlined in the administrative code, providing benefit information and assistance, processing payroll and conducting and assisting with the hiring process. We are always available to assist in any matter relating to personnel needs.

Solid Waste Scale Operator – Owensboro Transfer Station TEMPORARY

The Scale Operator is responsible for weighing, monitoring and collecting fees for waste entering the Transfer Station.  This is a TEMPORARY position from June 1-July 31, 2022.  Hours will be Monday-Friday 5:30a – 1:30p and every other Saturday from 7a-12p.

Seasonal Parks Attendant:

Supervises and performs services during evening and weekend park operations.

Heavy Equipment Operator:

Operates heavy equipment in performing road and transportation maintenance, construction and rehabilitation and supervising work crew as assigned.

Solid Waste Laborer:

Performs general labor duties. Responsible for the maintenance of grounds, assistance to drivers at Landfill and directing of traffic. Occasionally drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver solid waste materials.

Solid Waste Heavy Equipment Operator:

Operates various pieces of heavy equipment in the construction and operation of the Daviess County Landfill.



Utility Laborer:

Performs construction and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment for county facilities; operates vehicles and performs necessary tasks related to road maintenance and rehabilitation projects.  Apply by May 12, 2022.

Daviess County Detention Center – Employment Opportunities

Deputy Jailer:

Supervises inmates at the Daviess County Detention Center, one of the largest jails in Kentucky.  The Deputy Jailer provides security, responds to emergency situations, monitors radio traffic, and transports inmates inside and outside the facility, along with other assigned duties.
