If there is a specific document you need a copy of we will be glad to assist you. The records in our office are public records with the exception of Military Discharge Papers. Our office does not perform title searches or do research for customers.
There are 2 methods to request copies:
- You may come to our office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to obtain copies in person.
- You may mail in a written request and payment to our office. The written request must state what type of document you want a copy of along with any necessary information pertaining to the document in order to locate it. Please include a return mailing address and contact phone number on the request. Please allow up to 3 business days for us to process your request after it is received.
fees for walk-in requests:
For recorded documents, including marriage licenses:
- Photocopy – $0.50 each (or $1.00 for 11×17 size copy).
- Certified Copy – $5.00 for the first three pages and $0.50 for each additional page of the document.
fees for mail or fax requests:
For recorded documents, including marriage licenses:
- Photocopy – $1.00 per page.
- Certified Copy (Not available for fax requests) – $5.00 for the first three pages and $1.00 for each additional page of the document.
Method of payment: Our office accepts cash, cashier’s check, certified check, business check or money order. Personal checks are accepted for mail in requests only and must have all the information pre-printed on the check. Counter checks are not accepted. Make checks payable to Daviess County Clerk.
