The Daviess County Clerk’s Office is an approved Passport Acceptance Facility. You must apply in person if at least one of the following statements is true:
- You are applying for your first U.S. passport
- You are under age 16
- Your previous U.S. passport was issued when you were under age 16
- Your previous U.S. passport was lost, stolen, or damaged
- Your previous U.S. passport was issued more than 15 years ago

What to bring
- Applicant must be present. Minors (age 15 and younger) require BOTH parents to be present as well. Those 16-17 years of age must have one parent present.
- Certified birth certificate from the state where you were born. (Hospital birth certificates are not acceptable).
- Valid Kentucky driver’s license. A second form of identification is required if presenting an out-of-state license.
- Two separate payments will be collected:
- US Department of State: This fee must be paid with a check or money order only.
- Daviess Co Clerk: This fee may be paid with cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card (a vendor fee will be applied).

Routine – Processing time can take 4 – 6 weeks

*Overnight return delivery is an additional $21.36 (Optional). This is NOT an option for Passport Cards.
*Overnight mailing fee to Passport Center is an additional $31.55 (Optional).
Please Note: The passport card cannot be used for international air travel, only at land border crossings and sea ports-of-entry from: Canada, Mexico, The Caribbean, & Bermuda.
Online Renewal
Online passport renewal is now available! Applicants who meet the requirements can renew online from the comfort and convenience of their own home.
To start the process, visit https://travel.state.gov/renewonline.
Please Note: It is still important for applicants to plan and apply for their passport well in advance of international travel. First time applicants and children under the age of 16 are not eligible for online passport renewal. Applications must be executed at an acceptance facility, such as the Daviess County Clerk’s Office.
