Occupational Tax/Business License

Every person and business entity engaged in any business in the County is required to apply for and obtain an occupational license before the commencement of business (or in the event of a change of business status).

Every person and business entity engaged in any business for profit (including any person or business entity that is required to make a filing with the IRS or the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet) is required to file and pay an occupational license fee to the County.

Daviess County Fiscal Court contracts with the City of Owensboro to administer occupational tax compliance. If you are needing a form or have a question about your account, please visit their site:  https://www.owensboro.org/page/finance-department

Questions regarding occupational/net profit licenses and fees for businesses outside the incorporated limits of the City of Owensboro should be directed to the County Treasurer.
