Panther Creek Park

Panther Creek Park is located at 5160 Wayne Bridge Road, near Kentucky Highway 81 on the west side of Owensboro.

The park features a stocked fishing lake with picnic shelters, hiking trails, an 18-hole disc golf course, and six ball diamonds to accommodate softball and baseball tournaments.

Additional highlights include: a fully restored one-room schoolhouse, train caboose, and a 250-foot suspension bridge spanning Panther Creek, as part of the elevated trail network.

The park is home to abundant wildlife, including squirrels, geese, turkeys and deer, and many different species of plants and trees.

PARK TRAIL GUIDE

Panther Creek Park hosts two big events each year.  The Independence Bank Fireworks Festival is held on Labor Day weekend.  Christmas at Panther Creek begins the Friday after Thanksgiving and continues until January 2nd with more than 50 displays and 700,000 lights throughout the park.
