Solid Waste Department

Daviess County’s Solid Waste Department oversees the County Convenience Centers, Transfer Station, Solid Waste Landfill, Residual (construction debris) Landfill, Composting, litter, illegal dumping and property maintenance programs.

Solid Waste operates the convenience centers, transfer station and landfill and coordinates roadside litter cleanups and community cleanups as well as prosecuting those who dump their garbage illegally.  In addition to these duties, Solid Waste strives to educate the community by educating residents about environmental issues, assisting them with proper disposal of waste, and teach children how to properly recycle.  Please contact us for information about our citizen involvement programs such as Classroom Education Presentations/ Coloring Books, Landfill Tours, and Trash for Cash Roadside Cleanups.

For more information and details about Solid Waste programs or how to get involved contact the Daviess County Solid Waste Coordinator Mike Hamilton at MHamilton@daviessky.org or Daviess County Solid Waste Department Manager Travis Ricker at tricker@daviessky.org.
