Daviess County Parks & Recreation is accepting shelter reservations for the 2022 season.
Between Panther Creek Park and Yellow Creek Park, the County offers more than a dozen covered picnic shelters for a wide range of events.
“Our parks provide the perfect setting for your next birthday party, family picnic, or high school class reunion,” said Ross Leigh, Director of Parks & Recreation. “If you’re looking for an affordable outdoor space, give us a call. We probably have a shelter for you somewhere in our park system.”
Shelters are available between April 1st and October 31st. To book your space, call 270-685-6142.

Even despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Daviess County Parks & Recreation accepted over 500 shelter reservations in 2021.
“Our picnic shelters are extremely popular, especially on weekends in the spring and fall,” Leigh said. “If there’s an important date for your event, go ahead and give us a call. Let’s make that reservation and find the perfect spot.”
Many of the picnic shelters are enclosed with lights and access to a barbecue grill. Nearby amenities include: a stocked fishing lake, basketball and volleyball courts, disc golf, playground equipment, and spray parks.
