Robbie Hocker to Retire as Solid Waste Manager

After 27 years of service with Daviess County Government, Robbie Hocker will be retiring next week as the Solid Waste Manager at the Landfill.

Hocker was hired as the Assistant Manager in 1996 following a career with Green Coal Company.

“From the moment he was hired until now…every cell expansion, all eight of them, all 60 plus acres…have been handled by our own working crew,” said David Smith, Director of Legislative Services.  “His expertise has saved the County millions of dollars.”

Most recently, Hocker oversaw the construction of a 16.6-acre expansion of the Contained Landfill, which has received a seal of approval from the state.

Daviess County Fiscal Court would like to congratulate Hocker on his upcoming retirement.  The Landfill has provided excellent service to the citizens of Daviess County and surrounding communities.
