The Daviess County Fire Department set a new fundraising record with the 2021 Christmas Wish Golf Scramble.
“The golf scramble was held in September,” said Keith Hurm, Fire Inspector/Investigator. “We had a tremendous turnout with 28 teams, a record for us.”
A total of $14,106 was raised through the annual event at Ben Hawes Golf Course. The funds will support Christmas Wish, ensuring that every child in the Tri-State receives a visit from Santa Claus.
“This money is going to help so many families,” said Barb Birgy of 92.5 WBKR. “Don’t all children deserve to have Santa visit their house and deliver great toys, bikes, coats and jackets to keep them warm. And the hot meal on the Christmas table with a ham or turkey.”
2021 marks the 45th anniversary for Christmas Wish. Stop by the office in the Towne Square North Shopping Center, near Hibbett Sports and Buffalo Wild Wings.
You can make a huge difference in the lives of others and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by giving back to those in need this holiday season.
