West Commissioner Chris Castlen toured the Daviess County Landfill with Solid Waste Manager Robbie Hocker.
The Landfill is located on 875 acres of rolling hills in western Daviess County near the community of West Louisville on Highway 815. In 2022, the Landfill accepted 326,000 tons of garbage, serving the disposal needs of western Kentucky and southern Indiana.
Hocker explains how the trash is transported from your home to the Grimes Avenue Transfer Station and then to the Landfill for final disposal.
