Fish without a license or trout permit this weekend, June 5-6, at lakes, streams, and rivers across Kentucky.
It’s the ‘Free Fishing Weekend’ statewide with the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources.
“It doesn’t matter whether you’re visiting from outside the state or you live in Kentucky,” the department said. “Free fishing weekend is open to all. You won’t need a fishing license or a trout permit. Just make sure you still follow the size and number limits on what you catch.”
Yellow Creek Park and Panther Creek Park offer fishing in stocked lakes, as part of the Fish in Neighborhoods (FINs) program.
The Take A Kid Fishing event is scheduled for Saturday, June 5th with registration at 8 a.m. Several door prizes will be awarded along with a grand prize for the person who catches the albino catfish.
