The Owensboro-Daviess County Veterans Organization held a Flag Day service at Panther Creek Park.
President Pamela Smith-Wright says more than 1,000 American flags were respectfully retired through this ceremony.
If you have a worn American flag, leave it with any of the veterans service organizations in the City of Owensboro.
Please, do not throw it out with the trash. Burning is the dignified manner to retire the flag.
