Electrofishing Survey at Yellow Creek Park Lake

The Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources conducted a spring electrofishing survey at Yellow Creek Park.

Dane Balsman is the Urban Fisheries Biologist and Coordinator for the Fishing in Neighborhoods (FINs) program.

He says the lake is regularly stocked with catfish and rainbow trout, so this survey focused on bass and sunfish to see if the population is balanced.

Yellow Creek Park is one of 44 sites for the FINs program statewide.  Anglers 16 and older need a fishing license, except on the Free Fishing Weekend (June 3-4, 2023).
