The Daviess County Clerk’s Office will delay the reopening of the Auto Department until 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 11.
County Clerk Leslie McCarty says the adjusted hours will give staff time to navigate the new KAVIS system and see what issues might arise. Other counties have experienced long delays completing simple registration renewals.
The Auto Department has been closed since December 29 for the statewide transition to the new vehicle information database.
All motor vehicle services will remain unavailable in Daviess County until the office reopens on Thursday, January 11 at 2 p.m. For more information, call the Auto Department at (270) 685-8434 Ext. 1.
Please note, the Election Office and Recording Department are not affected by this system change.
