A delegation of 10 firefighters will travel to the Czech Republic as part of a new exchange program with Owensboro’s sister city, Olomouc.
Daviess County Firefighter/Paramedic Pavel Zboril is excited to lead the trip and share the Czech culture with his co-workers.
For this exchange, Zboril will be joined by Jeremy Smith (DCFD), Eric Coleman (DCFD), James Howard (OFD), Trey Davidson (OFD), Ted Johnston (OFD), Jenny Johnson (ASFD), Lucas Bullis (ASFD), Dustin Staves (ASFD/Fire Academy), & Robert Greif (JFD/Fire Academy).
The firefighters will exchange ideas on equipment and techniques for emerging risks from electric vehicle fires to building construction hazards. This visit will also lay the groundwork for a future training event with first responders from all the partner agencies.
