On Monday, April 8, the Daviess County Landfill will be releasing the first batch of compost for the year.
The cost is $22.00 per cubic yard. This Class I compost is available for lawns and spring flower gardens.
It is produced from leaves that are collected in the City of Owensboro and later combined with sludge from the Regional Water Resource Agency (RWRA). The material is mixed with a compost turner and cooked for 30 days before it is screened and ready for use.
