Community Update on COVID-19

The Daviess County Fiscal Court facilitated a community conversation related to the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases.

Judge-Executive Al Mattingly moderated the discussion with Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson, Public Health Director Clay Horton and Dr. Francis DuFrayne of Owensboro Health.

“In terms of our rates of COVID infection, they’ve been growing steadily for the last few months,” Horton said.  “And we are reaching a critical point here in our community.  Today, we reported out 26 new additional cases in Daviess County.”

Horton asked Daviess County residents to re-commit on COVID-19 prevention measures, namely the three W’s: Wear a mask, wash your hands and watch your distance.
