A new telecommunications tower is being built on Hobbs Road near the West Daviess County Landfill.
The tower will be utilized for the P25 digital radio system, providing better coverage for emergency personnel. At present, Daviess County first responders communicate on a legacy VHF radio system that is 20 to 30 years old.
