Public Hearing – CDBG-CV Application

To All Interested Citizens of Daviess County, Kentucky:

The Kentucky Department for Local Government is accepting CDBG-CV Application material for Recovery Kentucky centers under the 2020 Community Development Block Grant CARES (CDBG-CV) Program. The Daviess County Fiscal Court intends to apply for coronavirus relief assistance for the Daviess County Recovery Kentucky Project, Owensboro Regional Recovery.

A public hearing will be held via Facebook Live on October 15, 2020 on the Daviess Fiscal Court Facebook page at 5:00 p.m. to discuss the CDBG-CV Application. The purpose of this hearing is to obtain views on housing and community development needs, review proposed activities, review the proposed Renewal Application, and solicit public comments. Technical assistance is available to help groups representing low and moderate income persons in developing proposals.

The following information concerning the CDBG program for public inspection can be found by emailing Terri Thompson at TThompson@daviessky.org :

1. Amount of funds available and range of activities that may be undertaken.
2. Estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities benefitting persons of low and moderate income.
3. Plans for minimalizing displacement of persons as a result of activities associated with CDBG funds and plans for providing assistance to those persons to be actually displaced as a result of CDBG-funded activities.
4. Records regarding the past use of CDBG funds.
5. A summary of other important program requirements.

Comments on Funding Renewal Application:

A copy of the CDBG-CV Application material will be on file at the Daviess County Courthouse for citizens’ review and comment by contacting Terri Thompson (TThompson@daviessky.org) during regular business hours from October 9, 2020 through October 15, 2020. Comments on the proposed CDBG-CV Application may be submitted to the attention of Judge/Executive Al Mattingly until the close of business on October 15, 2020.
