The Daviess County Clerk’s Office is responsible for collecting delinquent property tax bills.

Methods of payment: Our office accepts cash, cashier’s check, certified check, money order, or credit or debit card. Make certified funds or money orders payable to Daviess County Clerk.
Payments may be made over the phone using a credit card by calling 270-685-8434 Ext 3.
Personal checks, business checks, and counter checks are not accepted.
The current year tax is collected at the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office. For information about the current tax bill or for the amount paid on a bill that is not delinquent please call the Daviess County Sheriff at (270) 685-8444.
Our office cannot accept partial payments on delinquent tax bills. If you are unable to make a full payment of your delinquent tax bill you may call the Daviess County Attorney’s Office to make payment arrangements. Their phone number is (270) 685-8442.
Each year the County Clerk’s Office is responsible for conducting a tax sale on the delinquent tax bills. During the tax sale, the delinquent tax bills are eligible to be purchased by a third party.
On or around May 1st, the Daviess County Sheriff will turn over the unpaid tax bills to the County Clerk’s Office. The tax sale may occur no earlier than 90 days and no later than 135 days after the bills have been turned over to the County Clerk’s Office.
The actual date of the sale will be determined by the Revenue Department and will be posted on their website www.revenue.ky.gov. The delinquent bills must be advertised no more than 45 days and no less than 30 days before the tax sale.
