Ambulance Contracting Authority
The agency to monitor and regulate emergency medical ambulance services, provide a procedure to approve contracts for the ambulance service provider and allow the contractor use of the 911 emergency system.
Daviess County Animal Care & Control
The advisory council to the Department of Animal Care & Control, which provides housing and care for animals in need while promoting responding pet ownership and safeguarding public health and safety.
Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau
Visit Owensboro provides assistance to convention and meeting planners, sporting event managers, tour operators, and other visitor-related business.
Daviess County Cooperative Extension District
The board provides input to the Daviess County Cooperative Extension District, an outreach service of the University of Kentucky. Extension programs include: 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture & Natural Resources, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Horticulture.
Daviess County Drainage Commission
The advisory board provides input on drainage management along rivers and streams in Daviess County, namely Panther Creek.
Daviess County Economic Development Advisory Committee
The citizen committee advises Fiscal Court on spending the Economic Development Fund.
Daviess County Library Board
The Board of Trustees provides oversight for the Daviess County Public Library.
Daviess County Parks Board
The advisory council provides input on Daviess County Parks & Recreation facilities.
Daviess County Solid Waste Environment & Education Panel (DC-Sweep)
The board compiles an annual update of the Solid Waste Management Plan to be forwarded to the Kentucky Natural Resources & Environment Protection Cabinet.
Dental Clinic Board
The board provides oversight of Community Dental Clinic, which provides low-cost dental care for Medicaid and uninsured patients.
Development Review Airpark Board
The board reviews building development plans at the MidAmerica Airpark off Carter Road.
Drug Alcohol Steering Committee
The committee was established to focus public attention and resources on substance abuse and addiction services.
EMA Structural Evaluation Team
The Structural Evaluation Team is comprised of engineers and other professionals that may be called upon to evaluate the integrity of buildings after natural disasters.
Green River Area Council on Aging
The Green River Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living administers state and local programs serving older Kentuckians, under the supervision of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
Green River Area Development District (GRADD)
The Green River Area Development District (GRADD) is a regional planning agency serving the communities of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster counties. GRADD offers assistance in the fields of aging and social services; community and economic development; transportation planning; and workforce development.
Green River Regional Industrial Development Authority
This entity is the managing authority of the Bluegrass Crossings Business Centre, a premier regional industrial park in Beaver Dam.
Greenwood Cemetery Advisory Committee
The board oversees the cemetery budget and makes recommendations to Fiscal Court for the management and maintenance of the cemetery.
Industrial Development Authority
This board was established in 1991 to transfer state incentives to industrial prospects and to facilitate the acquisition, retention, and development of land for industrial or commercial purposes.
Owensboro Area Shelter & Information Services (OASIS)
OASIS provides emergency shelter for women and women with children fleeing domestic violence.
Owensboro – Daviess County Regional Airport Board
The Owensboro – Daviess County Regional Airport is owned by the city and county, and governed by a ten-member board for commercial and private aviation.
Owensboro Health Regional Hospital Board
The Hospital Board provides oversight for the Owensboro Health system, which offers advanced, specialty and primary care at facilities across Western Kentucky.
Owensboro Metropolitan Planning Commission
The Owensboro Metropolitan Planning Commission, “OMPC” for short, is an agency of local government, established through a joint agreement of the City of Owensboro, the City of Whitesville, and Daviess County, pursuant to Kentucky Revised Statutes, Chapter 100 — Planning & Zoning Enabling Legislation.
Owensboro Metropolitan Planning Commission – Board of Adjustments
The Board of Adjustment carries out provisions of the Owensboro Metropolitan Zoning Ordinance by considering and taking final action upon conditional use permits, landscape variances, and administrative appeals.
Owensboro Metropolitan Planning Commission – Code of Appeals
The duties of the Board include the authority to hear appeals from the decisions of the building code official.

Property Maintenance Appeals Board
The board exists to hear appeals by any qualified party aggrieved by any decision of the Solid Waste Coordinator/Code Enforcement Officer.
Property Valuation Assessment Appeals Board
The Appeals Board hears challenges to property valuation assessments. Members should have extension knowledge of real estate values, preferably in appraisal, sales, management, or construction.
Regional Water Resource Agency (RWRA)
The Regional Water Resource Agency is the regional provider of comprehensive wastewater services for Daviess County.
RiverPark Center
RiverPark Center is a non-profit regional performing arts and civic center with one county-appointed member to the board.
Water (Daviess County) District
The Daviess County Water District was formed through the merger of the Southeast and West water districts in January 2021. The district purchases potable water from Owensboro Municipal Utilities. Currently, the system has 13,000 water meters and pumping capacity of 7 million gallons per day with nearly 500 miles of water line.
Water (Ohio County) District
Created in 1962, the Ohio County Water District covers a small portion of Daviess County with an unlimited source of water from the Green River.
