UniFirst Corporation has announced a nearly $28 million investment to expand the Owensboro distribution and fulfillment center.
UniFirst is a leading supplier of uniforms, workwear, and facility service products to businesses of all sizes. The Owensboro expansion project is a comprehensive upgrade of the 360,000-square-foot facility at MidAmerica Airpark.
“In the late 1990s, UniFirst chose Owensboro for their most advanced, state-of-the-art distribution center,” said Judge/Executive Charlie Castlen.
“The company has continued to invest in new technology and facility upgrades, while increasing employment,” he added. “I want to thank UniFirst for their commitment to our community. This represents yet another milestone in the company’s continued growth here.”
UniFirst will expand building space, upgrade equipment and enhance personalization capabilities to support continued growth and operational capacity.

Since opening, UniFirst has experienced 300% growth in output.
