As the nation remembers former President Jimmy Carter, Habitat for Humanity is building a new subdivision that will bear his name.
Carter Community Court will be located on the east side of Owensboro near the Consumer Mall at Glenn Court and KY-144. Habitat for Humanity received a $1 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to assist with infrastructure at the site.
After eight months, the organization has completed the task of adding gas and water lines along with roads, curbs and sidewalks. Five foundations are in various stages of construction.
