Road Crews Respond to Second Winter Storm

Daviess County Public Works is responding to the second winter storm in less than a week.

After several years of relatively little winter weather, Daviess County has seen two significant accumulating snow events in a matter of days.  The Public Works Department has deployed a crew of 12 trucks to salt and push snow Friday and Saturday.

While heavier bands of snow moved through the region, temperatures hovered near the freezing mark.  As a result, roads that had been treated with salt were becoming slushy and relatively clear for travel.

Another cold front is expected next week with highs in the 20s and overnight lows in the single digits.  In fact, early morning wind chill readings will bottom out around zero on Tuesday and Wednesday.  However, no more snow is forecast beyond Winter Storm Cora.
