When it’s time to replace your refrigerator, it is important to properly dispose of your old model.
The Daviess County Landfill and Transfer Station accept refrigerators, chest freezers, air conditioners and other appliances that contain refrigerant for $15 each. Solid Waste Manager Travis Ricker says refrigerators should be emptied of any food waste.
Along with the refrigerant, staff will remove the compressor and drain the oil, recycling the leftover materials. Call the Landfill with any questions at 270-229-4484.
