Records Room Offers Glimpse Into The Past

Commissioner Chris Castlen and County Clerk Leslie McCarty visit the Records Room in the basement of the Courthouse.

The Daviess County Clerk’s Office completed a renovation project in 2022 that added a decade of storage space for legal recording documents.

McCarty says her office will continue to digitize mortgages, deeds, plats, wills, and marriage license records.  By June 2026, eCCLIX© will have a 60-year search available.

eCCLIX© is a free service available to individuals and businesses with no limit on the number of searches per day.  However, users do need to create an account.

For more information, call the Recording Department at (270) 685-8434 Ext. 3.
