Public Works Cleaning Up After Winter Storm Blair

Daviess County Public Works continues to clear snow and ice left by Winter Storm Blair.

At least 3-4 inches of snow fell across much of Daviess County, combined with sleet and freezing rain.  Road conditions have improved dramatically, both on state-maintained routes and highways cleared by the county.

Daviess County Public Works has dedicated a crew to tree removal, as Kenergy continues to restore power and remove damaged lines.

If you need to travel for school or work, please reduce your speed and drive with caution.  Many of the side streets in the City of Owensboro remain covered.  Light snow will be possible on Thursday night into Friday.

Additionally, sub-freezing cold temperatures are forecast with wind chill values in the single digits to below zero.
