Judge/Executive Charlie Castlen presented a proclamation to Owensboro Health on the 50th anniversary of Emergency Medical Services Week.
Emergency medical services has grown to fill a gap by providing important out-of-hospital care, including preventative medicine for those experiencing sudden illness or injury.
Our emergency medical services system consists of EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, firefighters, police officers, nurses, and other trained members of the public. These first responders provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Whether career or volunteer, they engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their skills.
As a community, we recognize the value and accomplishments of emergency medical services providers. Please join us in support of EMS Week with the theme of “Honoring Our Past & Forging Our Future.”
