The Owensboro Riverport Authority has installed a new automatic river gauge to track the water level of the Ohio River.
Project Manager Bruce Cabbage says the data is transmitted electronically, 24 hours a day to an app and online website. The new river gauge will be beneficial for the Daviess County Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service in Paducah.
The City of Owensboro and Daviess County Fiscal Court are supporting the project.
