Daviess County Fiscal Court is excited to share the progress on the new fire hydrant installation.
Approximately 100 new hydrants are being added to improve fire protection throughout the county. Inspector/Investigator Keith Hurm provides an update from Highway 142 at Station No. 2 for the Thruston-Philpot Fire Department.
He says the project is nearing the halfway mark with roughly 40 hydrants ready to go. The contractor started on the west side of the county, before progressing to the east.
A bonus for many homeowners will be lower insurance premiums, if the new hydrant is within 1000 feet of the residence. Contact the Daviess County Fire Department with any questions at 270-685-8440.
