With moderate flooding forecast for the Ohio River and neighboring tributaries, the Mattingly Target Shooting Range will not open this weekend, April 4-6.
On Friday, our parks maintenance team will start sandbagging the exterior floodwall entrances to ensure the clubhouse stays dry.
The Mattingly Target Shooting Range is located on the north bank of Pup Creek, which typically backs up during Ohio River flooding events.
At this time, the river is projected to rise above flood stage on Saturday, April 5. The initial crest is expected at 46 feet, six feet above the flood stage. However, this forecast will be revised based on rainfall totals. A Flood Warning has been issued until further notice.
