On Tuesday, July 2, a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will pave a section of Northbound I-165, formerly known as the Natcher Parkway.
Last Thursday, a commercial vehicle carrying approximately 500 gallons of molten aluminum spilled its load onto the roadway, forcing the northbound lanes to be closed for most of the day.
Crews will return to the scene to put down a new top layer of asphalt.
Single lane closures on the northbound lanes of I-165 will begin at 6 a.m. around the 69.6 mile point. This location is approximately 0.5 mile from the end of the interstate in close proximity to the Fairview Drive overpass.
Lanes will be paved one at a time, allowing KYTC to keep traffic flowing throughout the day. All paving is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Tuesday.
