The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced the start date for the first phase of the Highway 54 widening project.
Beginning on Sunday, July 14, both eastbound lanes will be shifted to allow for the construction of a third driving lane on the south side of the highway.
Crews will work each night repainting lines until the lane shift is complete.
More than 32,000 vehicles use this highway each day. KYTC anticipates the project will be complete in late 2026.
