Governor Andy Beshear traveled to Owensboro to announce the Kentucky Sound Stage, a new state-of-the-art film and television production facility.
Located in the former Malco cinema multiplex on South Frederica, the creative hub will offer sound stages, recording studios, post-production suites and other amenities designed to attract filmmakers.
The co-founders are Kristi Kilday and Jeremy Winton of Goldenrod Film and Television. “This sound stage isn’t just about making movies, it is about creating jobs and bringing opportunities to the people of western Kentucky,” Winton said.
