(Owensboro) – Daviess County Parks & Recreation and Independence Bank have announced the winner of the “Indy The Eagle Holiday Scavenger Hunt.”
Eli Johnson will receive a new Apple iPad Air, courtesy of Independence Bank. A random drawing was conducted on Tuesday, January 4th to award the grand prize.
“We would like to thank Independence Bank for their sponsorship of Christmas at Panther Creek,” said Ross Leigh, Director of Parks & Recreation.
“We raised over $38,000 during the course of those five weeks,” he added. “We were blessed to have so many people come through the park and enjoy the lights in the 18th year.”
Leigh said more than 6,300 vehicles visited Panther Creek Park, between November 26th and January 2nd.
Five not-for-profits in Daviess County will receive $3,800 each, including the Kentucky State Police Professional Association, Right to Life of Owensboro, St. Benedict’s Homeless Shelter, WKWC 90.3 FM – Kentucky Wesleyan College, and United Way of the Ohio Valley.
Independence Bank sponsored the scavenger hunt for a second straight year. Visitors were invited to search for “Indy the Eagle” logos throughout the light display, marking the locations on a printed map.
“The scavenger hunt provided a fun challenge for families as they navigated the park and enjoyed the light displays,” Leigh said.
Christmas at Panther Creek is scheduled to return on Friday, November 25, 2022. Daviess County Parks & Recreation would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this event.
