The Daviess County Clerk’s Office is reminding voters of several important deadlines for the 2020 General Election.
Friday, October 9th is the last day to request a mail-in absentee ballot. To make a request, visit the statewide portal – www.GoVoteKy.com – and click on ‘Absentee Ballot Request’ at the top of the menu. The portal will close at 10:59 p.m. CST on Friday, October 9th. Voters may also request a mail-in absentee ballot by phone at 270-240-5771.
All ballots will be mailed out within seven days of the request date. Ballots must be postmarked by the date of the election (Tuesday, November 3rd) and received no later than Friday, November 6th.
Absentee ballots may be returned to the clerk’s office by mail or through a secure drop box at the Daviess County Courthouse.
Important Note: If you request an absentee ballot but decide later to vote in person, you MUST bring the ballot to the Daviess County Clerk’s Office for cancellation.
Tuesday, October 13th – Monday, November 2nd is the timeframe for early voting. Hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Daviess County Courthouse and Towne Square Mall (former Burke’s Department Store). Additionally, the Courthouse will be open for early voting on three Saturdays: October 17th, October 24th and October 31st from 8:00am to Noon.
November 3rd is the date of the election. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You may cast a ballot at any voting center in Daviess County.
