Participants in the Great Race are visiting sites around Owensboro this week, prior to the start of the nine-day, 2,300-mile adventure to Maine.
The drivers arrived from all points across America and even overseas from countries like Japan, Australia, Germany and England.
Over 130 classic cars and trucks, from 1913 to 1974, will start the Great Race on Saturday at Veterans Boulevard. The unique event is free to the public.
Organizers decided to return to Owensboro after a popular overnight stop in 2021. Director Jeff Stumb provides an update from the Mattingly Target Shooting Range.
