The Daviess County Fire Department has been conducting inspections at commercial buildings and pre-planning for the ISO Audit.
ISO stands for Insurance Services Office. It is a professional organization that provides ratings for fire departments and their surrounding communities, and the scores are often used to help set homeowners insurance rates.
Ratings are based on a number of factors, including fire suppression and water supply.
As part of this process, the Fire Department has been highlighting Community Risk Reduction, or ways for businesses to make their buildings safer by adding exit lighting, fire extinguishers, a Knox Box, etc.
