The Daviess County Fire Department has a safety message for farmers and the general public.
Inspector/Investigator Keith Hurm highlights application equipment, a bush hog, and a dual wheel tractor from H&R Agri-Power.
Drivers may encounter a tractor or sprayer on the highway this summer and need to give plenty of passing room.
Farmers should be mindful of the Power Take-Off (PTO) shaft, which transfers power between farm tractors and implements. It’s also a good idea to have someone present if you are working on moving equipment.
Finally, keep tractors and implements free of debris to reduce the risk of a fire.
