If you have any old tires you want to get rid of, Kentucky and Daviess County officials have a deal for you.
The Kentucky Tire Amnesty Program will take them off your hands free of charge from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 14 through June 16 at the state highway garage at 2973 Fairview Drive.
The county first implemented the program in June 1999 with other drop-offs occurring in 2003, 2008, and 2012. There is no cap on the number of tires that can be turned in during this program. Any Daviess County resident, other than retail tire dealers, can bring in tires. They can be on the rim or off the rim, but large off-road construction tires, foam- or calcium-filled tires or pressed-on solid tires are NOT accepted.
