Civil War Commemoration

April 30 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

In commemoration of the 160th anniversary of the United States Civil War, the Kentucky Room will be hosting a Civil War Day in the Pioneer Village at Yellow Creek Park.

An educational event, re-enactors will be set up in camps and visitors may move among them to observe the camp life of a typical Civil War soldier.  A photographer that specializes in Old Style Tintype Photography will have a presentation as well as accept appointments for individuals to have their Tintype made.

Re-enactors will portray various aspects of life in the mid 19th century, both as soldiers and as civilians.  Vendors will be set up to provide food and refreshments.

To volunteer or request additional information, contact the Kentucky Room at 270-691-1883 or email Kentucky@DCPLibrary.org.
