Solid Waste Rate Schedule – Effective January 1, 2024

The minimum charge for disposal at the West Daviess County Landfill is $7.00. This rate does not include the amount assessed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky for an environmental remediation fee.

Note: The environmental remediation fee is a requirement of the Commonwealth of Kentucky KRS 224.43-500. This fee is to be imposed on generators of waste at transfer stations and waste disposal facilities. This fee is charged in addition to the applicable rates listed below.

*PCB contaminated containing 49 ppm or less, or petroleum contaminated soils with benzene concentration equal to or less than 1.0 ppm, contaminations above those levels are classified as Special Waste.
**Special Waste- High volume wastes of low hazard which includes but isn’t limited to the following categories (examples are illustrative and not all inclusive):
- Low Density Wastes – Packaging materials such as closed cell foams, empty capsules such as tanks or boats, extrusion wastes
- Low Shear Strength Wastes – Pond muds, slurry pits solids, industrial sludges, food wastes, water/wastewater sludge
- Friable Wastes – Cotton dusts, casting sands, insulation materials
- Hard to Handle Wastes – Large dimension waste, off road tires, bulk containers
- Industrial Wastes – Contaminated soils, non-hazardous non-liquid wastes
- Asbestos – All types

Waste – No charge:
The following is a list of items accepted free of charge, if separated from other waste, at all permitted waste facilities owned and operated by the Daviess County Fiscal Court:
- Lead acid batteries
- Used motor oil
- Aluminum cans
- Aluminum
- Tin
PENALTIES:
The Landfill may assess a no tarp fee of $20.00 and a $50.00 fee for misidentified waste.
*Misidentified Waste is waste that a customer says is one type but is actually found to be another type OR when two or more types of material are in a load but only one type is declared. An example is a load of brush also containing tires with the customer only declaring the brush when on the scale.
