Visit Owensboro is excited to announce the launch of a new marketing campaign designed to showcase Daviess County’s exceptional park system.
“Our Parks: A Step Away From The Everyday” is a collaboration with Wonder Boy Media. The ad campaign will run on social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, throughout the month of July.
“One of the few bright spots from the pandemic was the rediscovery of outdoor adventure and exploring destinations closer to home,” said Jordan Rowe, Director of Parks and Public Information. “This campaign highlights the natural beauty and recreational opportunities available in our own backyard.”
The campaign launch coincides with the refurbishment of the elevated trail network at Panther Creek Park. Daviess County Parks & Recreation has rebuilt a large section of the wooden boardwalk that takes visitors above the floodplain to experience the flora and fauna of western Kentucky.
Other campaign spotlights include disc golf, pickleball, and the fishing lakes at Panther Creek Park and Yellow Creek Park, and the splash pad at Horse Fork Creek Park.
“The purpose of this advertising campaign is to encourage our residents and visitors to explore the amazing parks and amenities our community offers,” said Mark Calitri, President of Visit Owensboro.
“We’re highlighting the incredible recreational opportunities available right here in Daviess County, especially as more people seek outdoor activities for a better quality of life post-COVID,” he added.
The three county parks are managed by Daviess County Fiscal Court and offer amenities free-of-charge, year-round.
“Our parks provide a gathering space for families and an opportunity to connect with nature close to home,” said Daviess County Judge/Executive Charlie Castlen. “Plan a picnic, hike the trails, take the kids fishing, or play a round of disc golf. These parks are scenic and offer opportunities to escape from our daily routines.”
“Working with the Daviess County Parks & Recreation to highlight their incredible amenities has been a rewarding experience,” concluded Drew Hardesty, Owner of Wonder Boy Media. “We hope it not only encourages local residents but also attracts out-of-town visitors to explore and enjoy the diverse activities our parks offer.”
