The Daviess County Fire Department is training with new Ice Commander Rescue Suits from Mustang Survival.
These suits are waterproof with a zip-in buoyancy liner, allowing firefighters to perform rescues in icy cold water. The team is also utilizing the NRS ASR (All Surface Rescue) 155 Rescue Boat.
With an open design at the bow and stern, the rescue boat provides easy access for pulling a victim onboard.
Jake Cox is Battalion Chief and Training/Safety Officer for the Fire Department. He provides this update from Edge Ice Center.
