Going abroad this year?
Consider the total time it will take to get a passport when you are booking travel. Routine service is estimated at 4-6 weeks but does not include mailing time.
The Daviess County Clerk’s Office is an approved Passport Acceptance Facility. You must apply *in-person* if at least one of the following statements is true:
- You are applying for your first U.S. passport
- You are under age 16
- Your previous U.S. passport was issued when you were under age 16
- Your previous U.S. passport was lost, stolen, or damaged
- Your previous U.S. passport was issued more than 15 years ago
Minors (age 15 and younger) require BOTH parents to be present as well. Those 16-17 years of age must have one parent present.
Remember to bring a certified birth certificate from the state where you were born and a valid Kentucky driver’s license.
Two separate payments will be collected. The fee to the State Department must be paid with a check or money order only. The current fee for a U.S. passport book is $130 for adults, and $100 for children (15 and under).
The clerk’s office will assess a $35 execution fee along with an optional $15 photo fee. For a complete list of requirements and application steps, click here.
