Daviess County is accepting applications beginning November 1, 2019 from nonprofit groups interested in turning roadside trash into cash.
Approved applicants will receive a minimum of $100 per centerline mile of roads cleaned. The dollar amount and miles will be determined by state grant funds and by the number of Daviess County applicants.
Money for the program comes from the state’s “environmental remediation fee” of $1.75 per ton of garbage hauled to the county landfill & transfer station.
Completed applications may be faxed to Mike Hamilton at 270-229-4490 or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Mail must be post marked no later than December 1, 2019.
Other non-profit groups such as churches, boy scouts and girl scouts may apply.
For more information contact Mike Hamilton at 270-229-4484.
