Daviess County Sheriff's Operations and Communications

Our new communications room

Operations/Communication

The Daviess County Sheriff's Department now operates from offices in the Daviess County Courthouse, which was last renovated in 1964.  It sits on the same site of Daviess County's original courthouse which was burned by Confederate guerrillas in 1865, after it had been occupied by a garrison on the Union Army.  The department includes an Emergency Management System housing the 911 Emergency Dispatch Center, which provides radio communication to Sheriff's personnel and other emergency respondents.  In addition, the center has specialized services for the hearing impaired, national Weather Service, and Disaster Service (Agency(s). The department staffs an Enhanced 911 Emergency Dispatch Center to better serve our citizens.  The department maintains coverage throughout the county 24 hours a day.

We currently dispatch for:

  • Daviess County Sheriff's Office
  • Daviess County Fire Departments
  • Daviess County Coronors Office
  • Daviess County Animal Control
  • Daviess County Prosecutors
  • Daviess County Dive Team

The Daviess County Fire Department has responded to medical emergencies as first responder since 1987.
