The Daviess County Sheriff's Department will have 12 mobile data terminals (MDT) activated by January 1, 2002. From there terminals Daviess County Sheriff's Department deputies will be able to run license plate and diver license transactions, and silent dispatching. We are currently looking to incorporate additional agencies into our MDT network to allow for multiple agencies silent dispatching.
The MDT is a Motorola MW 520 touch screen computer with a backlit keyboard. This is a very durable computer and it is designed specifically for law enforcement use.
