Deputy's Day's partner is a Giant Schnauzer named Abigale Mary's Valentine "Abby" that was whelped in 2003. She was bred near Ft. Wayne Indiana and trained in Narcotic Detection at Rudy Drexler's School for Dogs in Elkhart Indiana. Abby received her certification in narcotic detection on January 18th, 2005. The Daviess County School Board purchased Abby to be used in their drug educations/prevention efforts within the entire Daviess Co. School District. The Board and Sheriff's Department share the cost of the daily expenses of Abby. Deputy Day and Abby are assigned as School Resources Officers at Daviess County High School, but travel to all schools in the District. When school is not in session, Deuty Day and Abby work as Patrol Deputies. |
